Presenter Bio

Scott Merle has worked in specialty coffee since 1988 and brings experience spanning the entire coffee value chain, from barista and roastmaster to green coffee sourcing and sustainability leadership. Since joining La Minita in 2009, he has worked closely with green coffee projects around the world, specializing in sourcing, purchasing, roasting, blend development, coffee evaluation, and certified coffees. He partners with roasters to build sustainable sourcing programs and strengthen long-term relationships with producers.

A respected industry leader, Scott has served on numerous international coffee cupping juries, including Cup of Excellence competitions, and currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Roast magazine. He was a founding member of the Executive Council of the SCAA Roasters Guild and has contributed to multiple Specialty Coffee Association committees and councils, including eight years on the Sustainability Council, where he served three years as chair. Throughout his career, Scott has remained committed to advancing coffee quality, sustainability, and equitable pricing practices across the global coffee supply chain.
