About the Artist
Steve Lee holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from San Francisco State University. Over the course of nearly 30 years working in the coffee industry, Lee has taken on a variety of roles—barista, roaster, green buyer, director of coffee, importer and COO. He has lived and worked in Korea, judged international coffee competitions, and served two terms on the Roasters Guild Executive Council, helping shape educational and origin-based programming. His work is grounded in craftsmanship, education, and building strong, ethical supply-chain relationships. He is currently a coffee consultant at Pocket Knife Coffee, based in Los Angeles. When he’s not consulting or writing, you’ll find him playing music and making paintings (mostly of coffee-related subject matter).
