Coffee Trader Assistant for Mountain Coffee Corp. Reporting to the Green Coffee Buyer, the Coffee Trader Assistant will provide essential support for key areas of the company: coffee procurement and trading room. This position provides the opportunity to develop coffee roasting and cupping expertise, including an understanding of coffee origins, cup characteristics and quality, and coffee trading. The successful candidate will be trained in coffee sample roasting and coffee cupping in order to support the green coffee buying and quality assurance functions. The role will require a well-organized, versatile individual. The successful candidate will work hands’ on with coffee, and be required to refine his/her palate through daily coffee cuppings.

Key Responsibilities:
• Roasting coffee and preparing cuppings for green coffee evaluation
• Physical coffee sample evaluation
• Documenting quality results in Company systems
• Maintaining coffee samples as well as lab and coffee equipment
• Communicating cupping results to vendors
• Updating records such as contract transaction and coffee sample traceability documentation
• Participating in planning sessions
• Social Media interaction, Twitter, Facebook, Mailchimp, etc.


Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year hands’ on specialty coffee experience
• Post-secondary diploma or degree and/or relevant work experience
• Social Media experience is a plus.
• Legally able to work in the US
